Generators

Our Services

Residential and commercial generators. Residential and commercial generators are distinct categories

of power solutions, differing significantly in power capacity, durability, cost, and installation requirements.

While residential units are designed for intermittent, low-demand home use, commercial generators are

built for robust, long-term operation  to prevent business disruptions.

Residential generators  are used primarily for emergency backup power, residential generators are scaled for the needs of an average household. They can either be portable for temporary use or permanently installed as a stationary "standby" system.

Key features

  • Power output: Typically range from 5 kW to 50 kW, enough to power essential appliances like refrigerators, lights, and furnaces.
  • Fuel source: Commonly run on natural gas, propane, or gasoline, with natural gas or propane being used for permanent standby units.
  • Noise levels: Engineered to operate more quietly than commercial units to comply with residential noise ordinances.
  • Installation: Standby models are typically placed on a concrete pad outdoors and can be connected to your home's electrical panel via an automatic transfer switch.
  • Cost and maintenance: More affordable upfront and require less complex maintenance than commercial models.
  • Top brands: Generac, Westinghouse, and Cummins are popular choices for residential backup power.

Commercial generators: These heavy-duty generators are built for business and industrial use, where a power outage can cause significant financial loss, data loss, and safety issues. They are designed for higher output and sustained operation.

 Key features

  • Power output: Typically produce 50 kW or more, with industrial-grade units generating hundreds of kilowatts to several megawatts.
  • Fuel source: Most often run on diesel or natural gas, with diesel offering high energy density for heavy-load, long-duration use.
  • Durability and cooling: Constructed with larger, more robust components and superior cooling systems to handle constant, higher-demand workloads.
  • Installation: Due to their size and complexity, commercial generators require professional installation. They may be housed outdoors in secure enclosures or in dedicated indoor rooms with proper ventilation.
  • Advanced monitoring: Often feature sophisticated monitoring systems to track performance and alert operators of maintenance needs.
  • Compliance: Installation must meet rigorous building codes and safety regulations set by organizations like the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA).
